Comparison: Maruti S-Cross Facelift vs 2017 Hyundai Creta

In recent times cross over segment has explored its roots across the International car market at jet dynamic speed and Indian car market is not an exception to it. Going through this two major car players of Indian car market Indo-Japanese car maker Maruti Suzuki India Limited and Indian arm of Korean car maker Hyundai Motors India Limited launched S-Cross and Creta respectively two years back in 2015. Interestingly both the vehicles received an over whelming response from the Indian buyers but unfortunately the former soon started losing its charm from the hearts of car enthusiasts and despite of various efforts made by the Maruti Suzuki it did not succeed in standing next to its strong contender Hyundai Creta.

On the other side going through the tough competition in the segment by other car makers both the car makers decided to launch facelifts versions of their vehicles in Indian car market. Where the Korean car maker launched Creta 2017 back in the month of April this year, the Indo-Japanese car maker Maruti Suzuki India has recently launched the facelift version of S-Cross with plethora of cosmetic updates. Now with refreshed version of both the vehicles back into the market it would be interested to see which one succeeds in ruling over the other. Moreover with Captur cross-over from French car maker Renault Motors speculated to make its entry sometimes during the festive season it would be interested to see that which among these three has an ability to fuel the hearts of Indian car lovers.

Meanwhile let us summarize the features offered in both Maruti Suzuki S-Cross and Hyundai Creta 2017.

Engine and Power: In its new avatar the Maruti Suzuki India Limited has discontinued the 1.6 litre diesel engine and now comes only with the option of 1.3 litre DDiS diesel engine enriched with SHVS system. It is capable of boosting the power of the power of 90 PS at 4000 rpm and torque of 200 Nm at 1750 rpm. The engine is mated with five speed manual gearbox. It is endorsed to deliver an average of 25.6 kmpl. On the other hand, Hyundai Creta is offered with wide range of engine options including 1.6 litre and 1.4 litre in diesel variant followed by 1.6 litre petrol engine. The 1.6 litre diesel engine generates the power of 125 hp  and 260 Nm torque whereas the later  generates the power of 89 hp and 220 Nm torque. The petrol variant is endorsed to develop the power of 120 hp and torque of 151 Nm. The engine transmission duties  in all these three variants are performed with six speed manual and automatic transmission system.

 Exteriors: On the exterior front the Hyundai Creta at the first instance looks like a compact SUV whereas Maruti Suzuki S-Cross leaves an impression of Station Wagon. Going through the trend of dual tone color treatment the Creta is offered with dual tone color treatment but you will not find the same treatment in Maruti Suzuki S-Cross. Moving ahead where the Korean car maker has followed the same treatment in offering 17 inch dual tone machine cut alloy wheels, S-Cross is offered with alloy wheels.

Interiors: Inside the cabin both the vehicles are equipped with seven inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports connectivity with Apple Car Play and Android Auto Play. Along with this the S-Cross Crossover also receives an updated dashboard system as compared to its first generation. Apart from this both the vehicles also get various utility boxes for holding various stuffs easily.

Safety Features: Both the vehicles are enriched with contemporary features like seat belts, air bags for front seat passengers, ABS+EBD, engine immobilizer, child safety ISOFIX, fog lamps at both rear and front sides and few more.
