Top New Cars Launched in India in August 2017

Indian car market in recent years has emerged as one of the highly preferred car markets across the world and therefore as soon as any manufacturer launches his new car in global market he launches the same in India at the earliest. Not only this, if there is no option of launching any new car then to stay in contact with their customers the manufacturers either launch the upgraded version of their best selling car or brings its special edition in market.

This month also the Indian car market witnessed launch of some upgraded versions of highly acclaimed cars from Indian alliances of International car makers. Few of these cars are referred below:

Maruti Suzuki Ignis Alpha 1.3 AMT (August 3, 2017) :
Recently, Maruti Suzuki introduced the AMT transmission of its new hatchback Ignis Alpha in Indian car market with the starting price of Rs. 7.01 lakh for petrol variant and Rs. 8.08 lakh for diesel variant both the prices are ex-showroom prices in New Delhi. The AMT system introduced in these variants is car maker’s auto gear shift system. Under the hood the AMT Petrol Ignis Alpha is empowered by 1.2 litre engine that churns the power of 83 bhp and torque of 113 Nm. whereas the diesel adorns the 1.3 litre engine outsourced from Italian car maker Fiat and boosts the power of 75 bhp and torque of 190 Nm. Except the transmission system there is not any major update introduced in AMT variant of Ignis.


BMW 320d Sport Edition (August 3, 2017): Empowered with 2.0 litre Twin Power four cylinder turbo diesel engine generating the power of 188 bhp and torque of 400 Nm, the Sport of 320d by German maker BMW is launched with starting price of Rs.38.60 lakh (ex-showroom price).  Mated with eight speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission system the car is capable of touching the mark of 100 kmph in the span of 7.2 seconds followed by the top notch of 250 kmph. It is endorsed to deliver an average of 22.69 kmpl.
 
Land Rover Discovery (August 9, 2017): British car maker Land Rover the Discovery SUV in Indian car market with the price tag of Rs. 68.05 lakh (ex-showroom price, pan India) for its entry level variant and goes high up-to Rs. 1.03 Crore (ex-showroom price) for the top end variant. It is the third generation of Discovery that has been launched in Indian car market. The petrol variant is empowered with 3.0 litre V6 turbo petrol engine that churns the power of 335 bhp and torque of 450 Nm. The diesel variant on the other side is energized with 3.0 litre V6 diesel engine that generates the power of 255 bhp and torque of 600 Nm. The transmission duty is performed by eight speedt ZF automatic gearbox.  There is also an option of four wheel drive system which is equipped with different driving modes.



2017 Land Rover Discovery

Tata Tiago XTA Variant (August 17, 2017): Launched last year Tiago hatchback had been the game changer for domestic car maker Tata Motors. Recently the company introduced XTA variant to its petrol line-up which is empowered with 1.2litre three cylinder Revotron engine that is capable for delivering the power of 84 bhp and torque of 114 Nm. The transmission duty is performed by AMT system with creep feature built-in. The major features offered in this variant include three dimensional headlamps, sixteen inch steel wheels, body colored ORVMs, connect next infotainment system that supports connectivity with Bluetooth, USB and Aux-in.  On the safety features it adorns driver and rear parking sensors, speed dependent auto door locks as standard feature, follow me headlamps, followed by option of driver and passenger airbags.
 
Next Gen Hyundai Verna (August 22, 2017): Hyundai Motors India Limited the Indian alliance of Korean car maker launched the next generation Verna in Indian car market with introductory price of Rs. 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom price, New Delhi). It is offered in both petrol and diesel variants. Developed on K2 platform the new Verna is empowered with 1.6 litre Dual VTVT petrol engine boosting the power of 123 PS and diesel with 1.6 litre U2 CRDi diesel engine generating power of 128 PS. It is offered in four trims E, EX, SX and SX (O) with seven color options. The transmission duty is performed by six speed manual and six speed automatic transmission system.
